Meeting of the ASPIRE Excecutive Board
On 7 May 2026, a distinguished delegation from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), India, visited the University of Cologne to explore and strengthen future avenues for international academic and research collaboration.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Mathias Wickleder , Director of the Institute of Inorganic and Materials Chemistry at the University of Cologne. Prof. Dr. Sanjay Mathur provided a comprehensive overview of the University of Cologne’s Indo-German initiatives, highlighting ongoing collaborations, strategic academic partnerships, and the pioneering work of his research group in fostering scientific exchange between Germany and India.
Prof. Budaraju Srinivasa Murty, representing IITH leadership, delivered an inspiring presentation on the remarkable development of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad since its establishment in 2008. He outlined the institution’s rapid growth into one of India’s leading centers of excellence in science, engineering, and innovation, emphasizing its numerous academic achievements, global partnerships, and commitment to cutting-edge research.
The visit provided an important platform for dialogue on shared research interests, future institutional partnerships, and opportunities for student and faculty exchange. During an interactive networking session, researchers, faculty members, and students engaged directly with the delegation to learn more about IITH’s academic programs, research strengths, and collaborative potential.
This exchange marked another significant step in strengthening Indo-German scientific relations and underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing international cooperation in science, technology, and higher education.
